Fortificationsverket is seeking electrical engineers for the newly established design unit. Do you have many years of experience as a design electrical engineer for complex buildings and electrical systems and want to help shape the future construction projects that contribute to Sweden's defense capability? The mission of Fortificationsverket is to meet the needs of the Armed Forces and other defense-related authorities for functional properties. We build, own, manage, and operate many different types of properties and facilities.

The task of the design unit is to conduct design in-house, and the operation is in the process of being established. Our goal is to work closely across disciplinary boundaries to develop concepts and proposals that monitor function, technology, and physical security from an early stage. To tackle the projects ahead of us, we need to increase our numbers and broaden our expertise in more technical areas.

What does it mean to work as an electrical engineer at Fortificationsverket?

As an electrical engineer, you will work in a multidisciplinary team together with project leaders, architects, designers, and installation specialists, providing your specialist expertise in electrical matters. The work consists of investigation, dimensioning, and design of complex electrical systems for both new construction and renovation projects. You will design various types of fortification buildings and facilities in a CAD environment with a strong focus on analytical work in early stages. The work involves close collaboration with your colleagues in the group.

Additional tasks may occur, and in your role, you will have many internal and external contacts. Planned travel within Sweden may be included in the position. Regular tasks require you to work on-site at the office. The position is currently located in Lovön, but will move to a central location in Stockholm in 2026.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with relevant education in electrical engineering. You have many years of experience in designing complex electrical systems in buildings and facilities. You are accustomed to preparing text documents and drawings, as well as working with industry-specific programs and applications such as MagiCAD for Revit and AutoCAD. Since the role involves some travel, a B driver's license is required.

It is advantageous if you have experience in designing classified and security-sensitive projects, preferably in the defense and fortification field or other areas of high complexity. High competence in CAD-based design of high and low voltage systems is also considered an advantage.

Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone with a high level of security awareness. You are a curious, development-oriented, and attentive team player with good collaboration and communication skills. Furthermore, you need to be structured and able to work independently in complex projects with high analytical demands. The role suits you if you are solution-oriented and easily establish new relationships.

About the employment

The position is a permanent employment and may start with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be assigned to a military position. The place of employment is Stockholm. An employment with us requires Swedish citizenship and involves placement in a security class. A security check with a background check will be conducted before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
